From mid-November 2008, a number of people expressed interest in continuing development of Nexuiz.On March 1, 2010, it was revealed that IllFonic purchased the rights to the name Nexuiz, and a proprietary license to the source-code, the details of any potential legal conflicts are not yet known. Responses to this call highlighted the need for better documentation of QuakeC and the Nexuiz code, while also acknowledging the difficulty that documentation of this placed on the small team of Nexuiz developers. In October 2008, a call was made for more developers for Nexuiz by the main (and only) developer, who identified organizational issues associated with a many user, one developer model. The initial support for vehicles is still considered experimental, but good progress has been made and driving around various Xonotic vehicles can be done in different community-created CTF (Capture The Flag) and DM (Deathmatch) maps. Xonotic 0.5 has seven new maps, completely rethought weapon balance, and improvements to player physics. Xonotic v0.5 is this new version and it boasts some radical changes as it becomes primed for a stable release.Īmong the changes in Xonotic 0.5 is multi-language support, new and updated maps, support for vehicles, and weapons and player movement enhancements. However, the Xonotic developers are now out with a major new release.
